AFDA proudly celebrates two Durban alumni who are making their mark on the global stage through their performances in Netflix’s latest South African hit series, The Polygamist.
AFDA Live Performance graduate Noluthando Shabalala stars in a leading role as Mpume Gomora, while AFDA Live Performance graduate Noxolo Mathula appears in the supporting role of Zodwa, contributing to the talented cast that has captivated audiences both locally and internationally.
Produced by Stained Glass Productions and adapted from the acclaimed novel by Zimbabwean author Sue Nyathi, The Polygamist premiered on Netflix in June 2026. The 22-episode drama follows the rise and fall of powerful businessman Jonasi Gomora as the consequences of his complex personal life begin to unravel his family, relationships and empire.
