NINE AFDA FILMS SELECTED FOR KUKASTREAM ONLINE AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL

A grand total of nine 2019 undergraduate and postgraduate AFDA films from our Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth campuses have been selected to screen in competition at the  Kukastream Online African Film Festival (KOAFF). The films selected are “Bismillah”, “Lefa”, “You, Me & Everything In Between”, “”Axel”, “Taming Kara”, “Oriel”, “Crush”, “Thulile” and “Welcome”

Founded in 2020, the festival features short movies in all genres – drama, comedy, thriller, inspirational, documentary, animation, family, and web series, made by African filmmakers. The festival will give filmmakers the opportunity to gain exposure and reach a potential audience of thousands of African film lovers, as well as industry insiders, producers, and investors?

The festival will run from the 6 – 20 December 2020.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Best Filmmaker Award

Best Narrative Short

Best Narrative Feature

Best Animation

Best Documentary Short

Best Documentary Feature

Most Streamed Film
