The AFDA Graduation Festival 2023 Showcase – Now Available Online For Viewing

The AFDA third year and honours students from the Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Gqeberha campuses have once again pulled out all the stops this year at the annual AFDA Graduation Festival held recently.

The Motion Picture Medium students very successfully screened their films, TV pilots and documentaries to sold out cinemas. The Live Performance students acted out their theatre plays and sang to the rafters to delighted audiences. The Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship students pitched their monetised tech-driven businesses to industry experts and gobsmacked public and for the first time, the genesis group of third year Creative Writing students wowed the critics panel and public with their short stories, screenplays and stage productions.

Last year’s AFDA Graduation Festival proved to be a roaring success online. The festival page on the AFDA website received over 50 000 visits from viewers from over 50 different countries around the world.

Last year’s AFDA Graduation Festival films also won a string of reputable awards. These include: Best Student Film at the SAFTAs, Loeries, Simon Sabela’s and Durban International Film Festival.
