Trending Netflix series Justice Served directed and shot by AFDA alumni

Netflix’s latest African original series “Justice Served”, directed by AFDA alumni Jozua Malherbe and Zwelethu Radebe and shot by AFDA alumnus Trevor Calverley has been trending since it premiered on Netflix on the 29 July and is still ranked in the top 10 of the most watched series on Netflix in South Africa.

The 6-episode series follows the high-stakes drama unfolding in a hijacked South African courtroom, while tension and conflict simmer on the streets and threaten to divide the country, families and friends. An enigmatic freedom fighter and his followers who have a secret agenda, hijack a courthouse to let the public decide if the murder accused should be executed, setting the world on fire and throwing the lives of everyday people into chaos.

The cast deliver an electrifying performance, Hlomla Dandala plays freedom fighter and military veteran Azania Maqoma who styles himself as an arbiter of justice while driving secret agendas to settle scores with old foes. The cast includes renowned actors Motshabi Tyelele, Jack Devnarain, Lerato Mvelase and Pallance Dladla.

The series was Created by Meraki Studios and Tshepo ‘Ty’ Skosana, the series is produced for Netflix by Meraki Studios, in association with Ochre Moving Pictures. The executive producers are Tshepo ‘Ty’ Skosana, Stan Joesph and Robbie Thorpe.
