Luntu Masiza is a South African actor, producer, and storyteller. He trained at AFDA The South African School of Motion Picture, Medium and Live Performance and later completed a Master’s degree in Theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
Luntu works across theatre, film, and television. His recent screen credits include Average Joe 2: Lubanzi (Supporting, directed by Eric Dean Seaton), Headmaster in Member’s Only (Supporting Lead, directed by Mangatsila Hlaise and produced by Sisanda Henna Films), and The Brave Man in Uhlanjululo – The Movie (Supporting, directed by Zamo Mkhwanazi; produced by Kude Media and AKKA Films). He also appears in Season 2 of the acclaimed South African series Reyka.
On stage, he performed in The Unlikely Secret Agent at the Playhouse Company (2025), and in Barber Shop Chronicles, directed by Sibusiso Mamba and produced by the Market Theatre.
He received a nomination for Best Breakthrough Performer at the Naledi Theatre Awards for his role in The Island, directed by John Kani, and won Best Actor at the Dikalos Awards in Cannes. His early accolades include the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards Best Promising Student Award, the Setkani/Encounter Special Award (Czech Republic), and multiple performance awards during his training at AFDA.
As a producer, Luntu co-developed the acclaimed short film Some Mothers’ Sons, adapted from a play by Mike Van Graan, which screened both locally and internationally.
Beyond his performance work, Luntu is the founder of CYBTT (Changing Your Business Through Theatre) and serves as an agent at Samantha Berrangé Artists Management, where he manages actors and leads the Johannesburg branch.
