Karlé Briedenhann is born and raised in Cape Town. She finished matric at High School Tygerberg. She then studied at AFDA Cape Town and received her B.A degree in Live Performance on the Dean’s list and won Best Supporting Actress in her final year for the film Kuiergat.
After her studies she performed in musicals Boy meets boy (2013), Oklahoma! (2014), The Mikado (2015) and Die Sideboard (2015).
She starred in the feature films Recce (2018), A Christmas Chorus (2020) and various independent short films.
In 2010 she opened her first drama academy where she taught and coached school children on public speaking, drama and performance. It is here that she started writing poems for performance pieces for her students. In 2024 some of these poems were published in the February edition of Die Klasgids of Lapa publishers.
She has written a few independent short films and finally in 2024 she debuts with her first play at the Suidoosterfees. This two-hander play is then later developed into a short film for the 2025 Silwerskermfees titled Sewe in which she wears the hats of producer, writer and lead actress. She receives a nomination for Best Screenplay for a short film for Sewe.
