At just 28 years old, AFDA Johannesburg’s BCom Lecturer Baphile Duba is already making waves, not only as an academic in the classroom, but as an entrepreneur, mentor, and changemaker shaping the next generation of creative business leaders.
Baphile hails from the small town of Cedarville in the Eastern Cape. His journey from a rural background to becoming a lecturer, business owner, and youth development leader is already an inspiring testament to resilience and possibility. His ethos is simple: start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. That belief is woven through both his professional work and the way he interacts with students.
Baphile is a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Just-In-Time Logistics, a transport and logistics company based in Johannesburg. The business offers removal and shuttle services, storage, packing/unpacking, and strives to be customer-centric, reliable, and innovative.
With Baphile’s youth development initiative, Mind Newtrition, he mentors young people in literacy, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and leadership, especially in under-resourced communities. The programme also aims to cultivate critical thinking and socio-economic awareness.
Baphile brings serious academic and industry chops to the lecture theatre: he has a
MBA in Digital Transformation from Johannesburg Business School (University of Johannesburg), a
Postgraduate Diploma in Operations Management and holds a National Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Transport Management among other qualifications.
He lectures in Business Strategy at AFDA and also handles modules in Transport and Logistics at UJ, drawing on both theory and practice to give students well-rounded, real-world education.
His work has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, Baphile was selected among the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans in the Entrepreneurship category. This recognition highlights not just his business success, but his influence in leadership, mentorship, and impact.
