AFDA proudly celebrates the participation of AFDA Durban Dean, Dr Temara Prem, at the inaugural Durban Screen Summit on 08 June 2026, where she contributed to an important industry conversation on the future of filmmaking in the age of artificial intelligence.
Held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, the Durban Screen Summit brought together filmmakers, broadcasters, creatives, academics and industry leaders to explore the rapidly evolving screen sector and empower the next generation of storytellers.
Dr Prem conducted a panel discussion titled Harnessing AI in Filmmaking: Innovation, Authenticity and Creativity in the Digital Age. The discussion explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping creative workflows across the film and television industry, while also addressing the ethical and artistic questions emerging alongside these technological advancements.
