Lyle Brice Prim, Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer for the Post Graduate Diploma in Innovation (PGDI) at AFDA, brings over 13 years of dynamic experience in strategy development and implementation across both the private and public sectors. His extensive background includes operations management, infrastructure development, sustainable energy solutions, entrepreneurship, transport systems, economic and spatial planning, and climate resilience development.
At AFDA, Lyle plays a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future innovators and entrepreneurs. As the Head of School and a senior academic, he leads students through key modules on Creativity and Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship, and imparts business fundamentals to film students, helping them integrate business thinking into their creative pursuits.
Lyle holds an MBA in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Science in Development Planning from the University of the Witwatersrand which equips him with a comprehensive understanding of global innovation management practices, sustainable development strategies, and the practical tools needed to drive meaningful societal and business transformation.
Beyond academia, Lyle is deeply committed to community upliftment and entrepreneurial mentorship. He volunteers his time to teach entrepreneurship to students at TVET colleges and mentors African entrepreneurs through initiatives such as the MTN E-Track programme, the Motsepe Foundation Golden Circle, and Healthy Futures programmes.
Through his work at AFDA and in the broader community, Lyle continues to champion innovation as a catalyst for change in South Africa.
