AFDA PORT ELIZABETH STUDENTS AND STAFF WIN AWARDS AT PEMADS

On Friday 17th of January 2020 The Port Elizabeth Musical and Dramatic Society (PEMADS) hosted their annual Awards Evening at the Athenaeum Theatre. Gemma Barnard who is currently an AFDA 3rd year Live Performance Student & Kerry Lee Allen, our Campus Administrator made up part of the ensemble cast in Robert Harling’s play; “Steel Magnolia’s”. PEMADS and their external judging panel honoured the cast and the creative team, awarding them with the prestigious title of OVERALL BEST PLAY OF THE YEAR AWARD.

PEMADS also honoured Kerry Lee’s performance and she was presented with the Salter’s Oscar Award for BEST ACTRESS OF THE YEAR IN A PLAY.

AFDA Port Elizabeth celebrate Gemma & Kerry’s achievements and look forward to many more stella performances from them.
