François Smit

François holds an MA in International Arts & Media Management from the Salzburg Business School / Paris Lodron University Salzburg, Austria. He is a South African born international public service broadcasting industry veteran, trans-media specialist, creative producer, and mentor. He has consulted major corporations, NGOs, governments and broadcasters and has been asked to present his know-how at numerous forums, think-tanks and conferences in several cultural spheres around the world. He joined AFDA from Berlin in March 2014. He has been working as the International Selection Coordinator for INPUT and Head of Online at Prix Europa. As a founding member of //WOODRUFF, an international artist collective, his works have been exhibited in several group and solo exhibitions. When he was growing up on a farm in Mpumalanga he never imagined that he might become as passionate about the media as he is today.
