Greg is an actor, voiceover artist, academic, teacher, and multi-award winning theatre director. He has a BA Dramatic Art degree from Wits and an MA in Text and Performance Studies with distinction from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and King’s College London.

He has directed theatre productions in many different styles and forms that include drama, comedy, musical theatre, musical review, contemporary world-drama and new South African plays. Among many awards for directing, he was the Standard Bank Young Artist Winner for Theatre in 2014.

As an actor, Greg has been seen in Pieter Toerien’s Around the World in 80 Days playing eighteen different characters for which he was nominated for Best Break-through Performance. In 2007 he performed in It’s a Dad Thing at the Montecasino Theatre and the Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town.

As an academic, his primary area of research is in contemporary South African theatre with an emphasis on post-apartheid plays. He is the editor of a collection of plays entitled AT THIS STAGE. PLAYS FROM POST-APARTHEID SOUTH AFRICA and co-editor of the METHUEN DRAMA GUIDE TO CONTEMPORARY SOUTH AFRICAN THEATRE and NEW TERRITORIES: THEATRE, DRAMA, AND PERFORMANCE IN POST-APARTHEID SOUTH AFRICA. Greg worked in The Wits School of Arts in Johannesburg for seven and a half years during which he headed up the writing and directing programmes in the division of Dramatic Arts and taught courses in South African theatre, directing, acting, comedy in performance, and playwriting. He spent two years at AFDA Johannesburg as the Head of School of Live Performance on the Johannesburg campus, a position that he left in January 2015 to focus on his freelance career.
