Ryan have achieved his BA in Production Design and Costume, Make-up and Styling and BA Honours degree in Production Design from AFDA. Not just did he achieve both degrees in Cum Laude, he was also class of 2018 Valedictorian!

His Post Graduate Thesis was entitled: East meets West - Japanese Horror Films and Their Hollywood Remakes.

Ryan is currently the Lecturer in Production Design at AFDA Port Elizabeth.

"I enjoy being able to help cultivate the new generation of production design students. I have a passion and drive for what I do and seek to do my absolute best every day to improve on that.

My one hope in doing what I do is to help the next generation develop a good work ethic and an understanding that so long as you do your absolute best that you can, it is always enough. If you feel that it was not enough then you strive to be better" (Ryan Reid-Thomson).
