On Friday the 15th of November @ 14h00 AFDA Cape Town students are in for a treat with a special lecture by US based entrepreneur, philanthropist and International Film & Television Content Producer, Samad Davis.

Samad will be sharing his thoughts and experience on the Business of Film and Television, how to marry entrepreneurship with industry and how to monetize content, especially looking at global markets.

After completing film school in 1998 at “Film Video & Arts” in New York City, Samad quickly merged his new creative knowledge with his entrepreneurial spirit and has been independently developing, producing and distributing content globally for 2 decades. In addition, over the past 11.5 years he has been working in various sectors, including the Film & Television industry, across the continent of Africa. He has developed strong and influential commercial trade networks between Africa and the United States. Samad facilitated the American & South African Co-produced TV Series, Top Actor, which catapulted actress Altovise Lawrence’s career (she’s also since been in the Netflix series Shadows as well as films Blood Drive and The Other Side). Samad also wrote, directed and produced the Film, Love By Chance, and provided the opportunity for SA actors to star alongside some of Hollywood’s finest cast and crew.
